Who We Are

Rachel Knightley formed Point303 in 2008 when she directed and produced Terry Pratchett's Night Watch as a fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Sophie Porter (formerly Spring, 1982 - 2007). The sell-out production raised £5000 for Macmillan Cancer Support in Sophie's memory.

“Bookworm, .303. The fastest insect on the Discworld. It evolved in magical libraries, where it is necessary to eat extremely quickly to avoid being affected by the thaumatic radiations. An adult .303 bookworm can eat through a shelf of books so fast that it ricochets off the wall.”
From The Discworld Companion , Terry Pratchett and Stephen Briggs

The company's name of Point303 recalls an amateur one, Point 303 Players, which was founded in 1998 by another cancer sufferer: Kris Collier. It was in this amateur company that Rachel and Sophie last acted together shortly before it folded in 2002. Several former ‘Players' went on to professional theatre work and joined Rachel on Night Watch and in subsequent productions. The new company is a very different one but the name remains in memory of Kris and Sophie.

Since Night Watch, Point303 has gone on to produce a radio drama, a rehearsed reading, hold further fundraising events for Macmillan and offer drama workshops, classes and parties.
