on Macmillan’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning: 24-25 September 2010

Rachel Knightley’s latest event for Macmillan Cancer Support saw published and non-published writers from across the genres come together in Ealing’s cafes for a Sponsored Write, helping us nearly double our target of £1000.

Big thanks to playwright James Graham and novelist and actress Lucy-Anne Holmes – Rachel’s co-organisers and moral-supporters-in-chief – and to Point303’s Biff Harrison, Stephen Bermingham, Emma Vane and Belinda Yonan as well as writers Lynne Reid Banks, Tony Bradman, Jo Coote, Carrie Etter, Richard Gallagher. About Point303...

Rachel Knightley formed Point303 in 2008 when she directed and produced Terry Pratchett’s Night Watch as a fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Sophie Porter (nee Spring, 1982 - 2007). The company’s name recalls an amateur one in which Rachel and Sophie last acted together before it folded in 2002, and which was founded by another cancer sufferer: Kris Collier. The sell-out production of Night Watch raised £5000 for Macmillan Cancer Support in Sophie’s memory.

Point303’s theatre work has since focused on new writing, with a rehearsed reading and a radio recording in 2009.

Rachel teaches in schools and youth theatres, providing regular speech and drama classes, clubs, workshops, parties and private LAMDA tuition in London and Surrey.
